The starting point of our visitor experience scheme at Warkworth Castle is a physical model, recreating what the castle looked like in its medieval splendor. Tactile and explorable, it is a stunning object in its own right. Beautifully milled from solid Portland stone, showcasing a harmony between 21st century CAD manufacturing and ancient hand carving techniques. 

WAM worked with English heritage historians to digitally recreate the castle as it would have once stood. This digital model enabled CNC milling of a solid block of  Portland stone to produce the general form and massing of the recreation model. Stonemasons then worked tirelessly by hand to detail and finish the model.
